Let Me Introduce Myself, I’m a Girl Who Loves to Sing
Hello and welcome to our website!
For those of you who have recently found us, I thought it might be a good idea to let you know who we are. We have a page headed “The Boys” where you can find out all about the musicians in the band, but because I’m greedy, I get a page all to myself 😊
So who am I? I am Jacquie Young – Singer and all round ‘General Manager’ of the band.
The heading to this post sums it up really. My musical life since about the age of 35 years old has been all about singing and performing in bands and duos. But my performing life started much earlier than that.
Early years at the age of around 13, I was traveling abroad with a county choir, which led to a love of performing live. So, with this in mind, I started acting training in college and then studied for a BA in Theatre & Directing at university in the USA.
After some time trying to find my focus, falling seriously ill for a number of years and questioning if I would ever be able to return to performing, it all led me back full circle to singing again!
My North Star is singing and performing with a band, but occasionally, I write songs, which you can hear on various streaming services, along with our other recorded music. Mostly though, I love singing bluesy music and working different interpretations of well-known and little-known cover tunes.
